MIGRATION AND HEALTH TRAINING PROGRAM DIRECTED TO PUBLIC HEALTH ADMINISTRATORS

“Migration and Health Training Program directed to Public Health Administrators” within the scope of “Technical Support in Migration and Health: Enhancement of National Public Health Standards in Migration Management” project which was run in cooperation with Directorate General of Migration Management, Public Health Agency of Turkey and International Organization for Migration was organized in Ankara on 20-21 November 2014.
Training program was carried out with participation of Directorate General Personnel, public health directors from central and 23 provincial organizations of Public Health Agency of Turkey, deputy managers in charge of migration movements and branch directors in charge of public health services.
On the first day of the training program, participants were informed about Turkey’s new migration management model and national and international legislation on migration. The second day of the program continued with the training given by project advisor on migration and health. Within this framework issues regarding the enhancement of health conditions consisting contagious diseases protection measures of the migrants and especially foreigners in the removal centers and related staff were discussed.
In the last session of the program “Collaboration Protocol between the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Interior on Irregular Migrant, Relevant Staff and Public Health” planned to be signed between Directorate General of Migration Management and Public Health Agency of Turkey was introduced to the participants and they were asked about their advices.
Migration and Health Training Program directed to Public Health Administrators ended with handing out of participation certificates by institution officials.
