WE MET WITH FOREIGN STUDENTS


In cooperation with International Organisation for Migration and Ankara University TÖMER, Directorate General for Migration Management held a meeting on 10 December 2012 in Ankara, with the participation of 185 students of foreign nationality, where opinions are exchanged with regard to the problems that the foreign students studying in Turkey face during adaption to our country. Our directorate general held a meeting with the participation of 185 students of foreign nationality with the aim of presenting new organisation and the law, and expressing and exchanging the opinions with regard to the problems that the foreign students studying in Turkey face during adaption to our country.
 
During the mentioned meeting, TÖMER Central Manager Ass. Dr. M. Ertan GÖKMEN gave a speech about the training and practices in TÖMER, International Organisation for Migration Project Coordinator Meltem ERSAN; the work performed jointly with Directorate General for Migration Management, and Directorate General for Migration Management Head of Adaptation and Communication Department Atay USLU also gave a speech on the rights and responsibilities of the foreigners introduced by Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection.
 
At the end of the meeting, the students expressed their gratitude for the useful information they got during the meeting and that they had the opportunity to communicate their problems to the authorities. Following the speeches, the students told the daily problems they had faced as from the moment they entered into our country. Directorate General for Migration Management Head of Adaptation and Communication Department Atay USLU answered the questions and shared the solutions addressing the problems, which are in place in our new migration system.
